Getting to Know Johanna Spencer

A virtual hello will have to do for now, but we couldn’t wait any longer to introduce you to our new Project Manager, Johanna Spencer, AIA. We wanted to pick her brain a bit so you could get to know her better. Here is what she had to say:

R: What made you decide to become an architect?

J: In college, I took an Intro to Architecture course and was fascinated by the use of human sociology in design. I was interested in designing spaces that celebrated and improved the lives of its occupants. For me, architecture is a way to give back and leave a positive impact on my community.  

R: What are you most excited about in your new role?

J: I am excited to work on projects that will become part of Austin's public face! 

R: What is your favorite food?

J: Nothing's better than a thin, crispy pizza or top rate charcuterie plate. And any type of citrus dessert! 

R: When not working, we could find you…

J: Slinging pots in my garage! I'm a ceramicist and have my own pottery wheel!
