NITRO
NITRO | architecture, interiors
The design concept for Nitro Swim is a jewel box, composed of two distinct volumes intersecting. The taller structure - the jewel - is a pure white prism that hosts the pool and deck area, while the lower contrasting building hosts all the programmatic elements, which include lobby, offices, viewing platforms, locker/shower rooms, and service areas. A gap between the two volumes define the fully glazed entry. A sequence of transparencies connect the building to its surrounding and reveals the activity within. During the day, the jewel box stands out as a sculpture in the plain field, while at night it lights up and becomes a beacon in the landscape.
